چکیده
Today’s strong competitive conditions force companies to satisfy customer demands as well as possible (dependability) at the lowest possible cost and on time. Thus, companies try to develop new strategies and solutions to improve the quality of their supply chains and to reduce their operational costs. In the past few years, Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technologies have drawn significant interests as one of these solutions. RFID technologies have the possibility to improve supply chain management through their advanced unique identification and real-time communication properties. In this study, we develop a simulation study in order to analyze the impacts of RFID technologies on retail supply chain performances and to evaluate their economical impacts through Return-On-Investment (ROI) analyzes. The main originality of our research is that we are considering various possible RFID systems of different costs and potential profits and comparing the effects of different RFID technologies for different product types. Our results indicate that the economical impacts and ROI of RFID applications strongly depend on factors such as technology characteristics (cost, income, tagging level...) and product characteristics (price, type...).

Simulation based optimization of multi-product supply chain under a JIT system
It is scientifically challenging to determine the inventory level all through the supply chain in such a way that the desired objectives such as effectiveness and responsiveness of the supply chain system can be obtained. Simulation is a means for solving various problems which cannot be solved by regular exact models such as mathematical ones due to their complexity. The present paper is aime...
متن کاملImpact of government’s policies on competition of two closed-loop and regular supply chains
With progressing technologies and new features of production, new products compete with older ones in markets. Indeed, new products initiate contest with olden ones and this process repeats in different productions lifetime several times. In this situation recycling the olden products seems to be significant for supply chains. Governments often levy special tariffs for these products as a contr...
متن کاملSimultaneous Decentralized Competitive Supply Chain Network Design under Oligopoly Competition
This paper discusses a problem in which decentralized supply chains enter the market simultaneously with no existing rival chains, shape the supply chains’ networks, and set wholesale and retail prices in a noncooperative manner. All the chains produce either identical or highly substitutable products. Customer demand is elastic and price-dependent. A three-step algorithm is proposed to solve ...
متن کاملImpact of Rfid Technology on Logistic Process Efficiency in Retail Supply Chains
The challenges that logistics faces in the retail industry must be investigated in the context of the specific retail sector as well as the degree of development of the retail market. The research focus in this paper is on logistic processes in supermarket supply. The aim is to deepen the understanding of logistic processes and then to investigate the possibilities of their enhancement by apply...
متن کاملApplying Stackelberg Game to Find the Best Price and Delivery Time Policies in Competition between Two Supply Chains
In this paper, the competition between two supply chains and their elements is studied. Each chain consisted of a manufacturer and a distributor and the two chains compete in a market with single type of customer sensitive to price and delivery time. Therefore, this is a two-supply chain game and during the competition between two supply chains, elements of each supply chain (manufacturer and/o...
